TRANSMISSION REBUILDS AND INSTALLATION

Phinney Automotive diagnoses, rebuilds, and installs automatic transmissions in-house. We inspect the transmission, identify the cause of the failure, rebuild the unit with the required internal components, complete installation, verify fluid level and operation, and road-test the vehicle.

CARRY-OUT / BENCH-BUILT TRANSMISSIONS

Customers may remove their transmission, bring it to Phinney Automotive for rebuilding, and reinstall it themselves. The complete transmission must be brought to us for inspection and rebuilding. Installation, removal, vehicle diagnosis, cooler flushing, fluid level, external wiring, and related vehicle systems remain the customer’s responsibility.

3-YEAR TRANSMISSION WARRANTY

Transmissions rebuilt and installed by Phinney Automotive are covered by a 3-year warranty on the rebuilt transmission itself. This warranty covers defects in the transmission’s rebuilt internal components and our transmission rebuilding workmanship.

Labor is warrantied for the first 60 days after installation for repairs that are covered under the transmission warranty.

After 60 days, the covered transmission components remain warrantied for the balance of the 3-year period, but removal, installation, diagnostic, and other labor charges are the customer’s responsibility.

CARRY-OUT / BENCH-BUILT WARRANTY

Carry-out and bench-built transmissions include a 1-year warranty on the rebuilt transmission itself. Installation and removal labor are not included.
